When the weather drops in temperature, your hands are one of the first parts of your body to feel the cold. So, what’s the reason behind this? According to Healthline, your hands cool down because “your body makes sure to keep the blood flowing to your core and vital organs to keep them warm.” Less blood will flow through your hands and feet, hence making them cold. Freezing fingers sometimes don't allow us to perform some activities comfortably and in some cases can even feel painful.
Who has cold hands all year long?
Although most people only have cold hands during winter, some suffer from this all year long. According to the Mayo Clinic, some of the causes of this can be: anemia, Buerguer’s disease, diabetes, frostbite, lupus, Raynaud’s disease, and scleroderma.
